PRIMARY PURPOSE

Colonial Tool Sales and Service is seeking a precision spindle builder – toolmaker for our Taylor, Michigan facility.  Potential candidate must be able to document a minimum of 10 years of recent precision spindle / machine tool building experience.  Duties include building new, diagnosing, repairing and rebuilding precision spindles.  This position requires an above average level of precision machining and measurement experience, attention to detail and experience in high-precision close tolerance work.  Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, Travel is infrequent, less than 10%, but a current US passport is required.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Operator must obtain the necessary skills to start with the print, program the tool, engineering assistance is available when required, machine the part to specifications leaving grinding stock where required.

• Manufactures or processes within a manufacturing department, tools or components meeting quality and cost targets with a minimum of scrap and repair. • Maintains production schedules within the Department. • Assures preventive maintenance and cleanliness of machines and equipment within the Department.
